Course Outline – Weaving Calculations (TX-416)

What the course covers, how it is graded and where each lecture sits in the 15-week plan.
OutlineGrading15-week plan

Description

This course concentrates on the calculations that a weaving engineer performs every day: converting and combining yarn counts, estimating the weight and cover of a fabric, sizing the warping, sizing and beaming operations for an order, predicting loom production, planning deliveries, and finally judging the feasibility of a whole weaving plant.

Outcomes

Productivity calculations of weaving machines; planning a weaving factory to meet customer orders; fabric weight and cover calculations.

Rule

Attendance below 80% means an F grade — the calculations build on one another week by week.
