Cover Factor
Relative cover from diameter and spacing, cloth cover, and the Ne cover factor — the design view of Weaving Calculations 12.
d/pK = n√texCloth cover
Cover in design terms
Relative cover of one thread set is d/p — how much of the spacing the yarn fills. With d = √tex ÷ 26.7 mm, cover = (threads per 100 mm × √tex) ÷ 2670; the product n√tex is the cover factor K and 2670 is its maximum. Cloth cover combines warp and weft: C = C₁ + C₂ − C₁C₂.

The lecture’s example: 25 tex at 267/100 mm covers 0.50, 36 tex at 334/100 mm covers 0.75, and the cloth is 0.88 covered — the remaining 12% is the open area that lets air (and light) through. For weavability limits and weave corrections see Weaving Calculations 12–13.
