خ ر ط مkh-r-ṭ-m

(quadriliteral, rubāʿī) — خُرْطُوْمkhurṭūm pl. خَرَاطِيْمkharāṭīm: trunk, the long snout of an animal; and figuratively the nose of a human being, when contempt is intended. The lexicographers say that to call a human nose khurṭūm is a severe insult, and that is what is intended in this verse. Only once in the Quran: ﴿سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَي الْخُرْطُوْمِ﴾ (Al-Qalam 68:16)
