غ ط شgh-ṭ-sh
(ض) غَطَشَ يَغْطِشُ غَطْشًاghaṭasha yaghṭishu ghaṭshan: to be dark, to become dark. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
Form IV (ifʿāl) أَغْطَشَ يُغْطِشُ إِغْطَاشًاaghṭasha yughṭishu ighṭāshan: to make dark. Only once in the Quran, and that in Form IV: ﴿وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا﴾ (An-Nāziʿāt 79:29) — that is, He made its night dark and brought forth its daylight.
