(ن) غَطَا يَغْطُوْ غَطْوًاghaṭā yaghṭū ghaṭwan (original form: غَطَوَ يَغْطُوُghaṭawa yaghṭuwu): to hide something, to cover it. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
غِطَآءٌghiṭāʾ (noun (ism dhāt)): a veil, a covering. ﴿فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيْدٌ﴾ (Qāf 50:22); ﴿الَّذِيْنَ كَانَتْ اَعْيُنُهُمْ فِيْ غِطَآءٍ عَنْ ذِكْرِيْ﴾ (Al-Kahf 18:101)
