ز ف فz-f-f
(ض) زَفَّ يَزِفُّ زَفًّا وَزَفِيْفًاzaffa yaziffu zaffan wa-zafīfan (original form: زَفَفَ يَزْفِفُzafafa yazfifu): to walk fast; to come running; the original sense is of the gait of the ostrich when it runs with its wings spread, whence «زِفَافzifāf», to send off the bride. Only once in the Quran: ﴿فَاَقْبَلُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّوْنَ﴾ (Aṣ-Ṣāffāt 37:94) — i.e. they came running towards him.
