ط و دṭ-w-d
— طَوْدṭawd pl. أَطْوَادaṭwād: a very great, lofty mountain. The lexicographers say it is larger and more solid than طَوْد جَبَلṭawd jabal. Only once in the Quran, in the account of the parting of the sea: ﴿فَانْفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيْمِ﴾ (Ash-Shuʿarāʾ 26:63) — i.e. each part of the water became like a great mountain.
