(ن) تَجَرَ يَتْجُرُ تَجْرًا وَتِجَارَةًtajara yatjuru tajran wa-tijāratan: to carry on the buying and selling of goods for profit.
تِجَارَةtijārah (verbal noun, maṣdar, pattern فِعَالَةfiʿālah): this pattern carries the sense of a profession and continuity (like زِرَاعَةzirāʿah, صِنَاعَةṣināʿah), so تِجَارَةtijārah is not a one-off bargain but an ongoing business.
تُجَّار وَتِجَارtujjār wa-tijār (active participle, ism fāʿil); مَتْجَرmatjar: a place of trade or its profit.
