ش ف ھsh-f-h
— شَفَةٌshafah (dual شَفَتَانِshafatāni, pl. شِفَاهٌ وَشَفَوَاتٌshifāh wa-shafawāt): lip; the original form is شَفَهَةٌshafahah or شَفَوَةٌshafawah, with the third radical elided, which is why it reappears in the plural. Only once in the Quran, in the enumeration of Allah's blessings: ﴿وَلِسَانًا وَّشَفَتَيْنِ﴾ (Al-Balad 90:9)
