ق ن یq-n-y
(ن) قَنَا يَقْنُو قِنْيَةً وَقُنْيَةًqanā yaqnū qinyatan wa-qunyatan: to acquire wealth and keep it in one's possession. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
Form IV (ifʿāl) أَقْنَيٰ يُقْنِيْ إِقْنَاءًaqnā yuqnī iqnāʾan: to make wealthy, to grant capital. Only once in the Quran, together with «أَغْنٰىaghnā»: ﴿وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنٰى وَأَقْنٰى﴾ (An-Najm 53:48) — the exegetes say that أَغْنٰىaghnā is meeting one's need, and أَقْنٰىaqnā is granting capital beyond that.
