ق م ط رq-m-ṭ-r
quadriliteral — قَمْطَرِيْرqamṭarīr: extremely harsh and grim; a day that makes one scowl with its severity; the lexicographers say the original sense is contracting and shrinking (اقْمَطَرَّ الْيَوْمُaqmaṭarra al-yawm = the day became harsh). Only once in the Quran, together with «عَبُوْسًاʿabūsan»: ﴿إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوْسًا قَمْطَرِيْرًا﴾ (Al-Insān 76:10).
