ق م عq-m-ʿ
(ف) قَمَعَ يَقْمَعُ قَمْعًاqamaʿa yaqmaʿu qamʿan: to pound a thing, to beat it down; to humiliate. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
مِقْمَعَةٌmiqmaʿah pl. مَقَامِعُmaqāmiʿu (noun of instrument, ism ālah): an instrument for pounding, a mace, a hammer. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَلَهُمْ مَّقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيْدٍ﴾ (Al-Ḥajj 22:21)
