(ک) قَبُحَ يَقْبُحُ قُبْحًا وَقَبَاحَةًqabuḥa yaqbuḥu qubḥan wa-qabāḥatan: to be ugly and loathsome — the opposite of حُسْنḥusn.
مَقْبُوْحmaqbūḥ pl. مَقْبُوْحِيْنmaqbūḥīn (passive participle, ism mafʿūl): made ugly, rendered disgraced and loathsome; the lexicographers say that it also carries the sense of being driven away and humiliated. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ مِّنَ الْمَقْبُوْحِيْنَ﴾ (Al-Qaṣaṣ 28:42).
