م ھ نm-h-n
(ف) مَهَنَ يَمْهَنُ مَهْنًا وَمِهْنَةًmahana yamhanu mahnan wa-mihnatan: to serve, to do menial work. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
مَهِيْنٌmahīn (adjective on the pattern of فَعِيْلٌfaʿīl): contemptible, weak, of no account. Four times in the Quran; it is used of two entirely different things, and in both places the sense of «weakness» is common: of the sperm-drop, ﴿مِنْ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنْ مَّآءٍ مَّهِيْنٍ﴾ (As-Sajdah 32:8), and, in the words of Pharaoh, of Moses, peace be upon him, ﴿اَمْ اَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْ هٰذَا الَّذِيْ هُوَ مَهِيْنٌ﴾ (Az-Zukhruf 43:52)
