(ن) خَطَطَ يَخْطُطُkhaṭaṭa yakhṭuṭu (original form) ⟵ خَطَّ يَخُطُّ خَطًّاkhaṭṭa yakhuṭṭu khaṭṭan: to draw a line, to write. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَمَا كُنْتَ تَتْلُوْا مِنْ قَبْلِهِۦ مِنْ كِتٰبٍ وَّلَا تَخُطُّهُۥ بِيَمِيْنِكَ﴾ (Al-ʿAnkabūt 29:48) — and this very verse is the proof that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was اُمّيummy.

خَطّkhaṭṭ: line, writing, calligraphy; مِخَطّmikhaṭṭ: pen.
