ج ف اj-f-ʾ
(ف) جَفَأَ يَجْفَأُ جَفْأًjafaʾa yajfaʾu jafʾan: for a pot to boil over its brim; for something to go to waste, to become useless.
جُفَاءٌjufāʾ (adjective on the pattern fuʿāl): useless, wasted. ﴿فَاَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَآءً﴾ (Ar-Raʿd 13:17)
