ح و جḥ-w-j
(ن) حَاجَ يَحُوْجُ حَوْجًاḥāja yaḥūju ḥawjan: to be in need, to desire something.
حَاجَةٌḥājah: a need that the heart desires: (1) need (2) heart's desire. ﴿اِلَّا حَاجَةً فِيْ نَفْسِ يَعْقُوْبَ قَضٰىهَا﴾ (Yūsuf 12:68); ﴿وَلَا يَجِدُوْنَ فِيْ صُدُوْرِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّآ اُوْتُوْا﴾ (Al-Ḥashr 59:9)
Form VIII (iftiʿāl) اِحْتَاجَ يَحْتَاجُ اِحْتِيَاجًاiḥtāja yaḥtāju iḥtiyājan: to be in need; to be dependent on something (this verb is not used in the Quran).
