ح ر سḥ-r-s

(ن) حَرَسَ يَحْرُسُ حِرَاسَةًḥarasa yaḥrusu ḥirāsatan: to keep watch, to guard.

حَرَسḥaras (collective noun, ism jamʿ): guards, watchmen; حَارِسḥāris pl. حُرَّاسḥurrās. Only once in the Quran, and that in the words of the jinn: ﴿فَوَجَدْنٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيْدًا وَّشُهُبًا﴾ (Al-Jinn 72:8)
