غ م ضgh-m-ḍ
(ن) غَمَضَ يَغْمُضُ غُمُوْضًاghamaḍa yaghmuḍu ghumūḍan: to be overcome by drowsiness; to be hidden. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
Form IV (ifʿāl) اَغْمَضَ يُغْمِضُ اِغْمَاضًاaghmaḍa yughmiḍu ighmāḍan: to close the eyes; hence to turn a blind eye, to overlook deliberately. ﴿وَلَسْتُمْ بِاٰخِذِيْهِ اِلَّآ اَنْ تُغْمِضُوْا فِيْهِ﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:267)
