(ف) فَرَعَ يَفْرَعُ فَرْعًاfaraʿa yafraʿu farʿan: to climb up, to be high. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
فَرْعٌfarʿ pl. فُرُوْعٌfurūʿ (also a noun (ism dhāt)): the upper part of something, the branch of a tree — the opposite of اَصْلaṣl (root). ﴿اَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَّفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَآءِ﴾ (Ibrāhīm 14:24)
