ع ض دʿ-ḍ-d
(ن) عَضَدَ يَعْضُدُ عَضْدًاʿaḍada yaʿḍudu ʿaḍdan: to be someone's right arm, to help. (this verb is not used in the Quran).
عَضُدٌʿaḍud (also a noun, ism dhāt): (1) the upper arm (from the elbow to the shoulder) (2) a helper. ﴿سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِاَخِيْكَ﴾ (Al-Qaṣaṣ 28:35); ﴿وَمَا كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّيْنَ عَضُدًا﴾ (Al-Kahf 18:51)
