ع ب اʿ-b-ʾ

(ف) عَبَأَ يَعْبَأُ عَبْأًʿabaʾa yaʿbaʾu ʿabʾan: to care about something, to give it weight; the original sense is of preparing and arranging equipment (عَبَّأَ الْجَيْشَʿabbaʾa al-jaysha = he drew up the army in ranks).

عِبْءʿibʾ pl. أَعْبَاءaʿbāʾ: burden. Only once in the Quran, in a context of negation: ﴿قُلْ مَا يَعْبَؤُا بِكُمْ رَبِّيْ لَوْلَا دُعَاؤُكُمْ﴾ (Al-Furqān 25:77) — i.e. you would have no worth were it not for your supplication.
