These ayaat talk about the profound parables of divine light and the darkness of disbelief. They begin with the magnificent Verse of Light (Ayat an-Nur), illustrating how Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The light of faith within a believer's heart is beautifully depicted as a radiant lamp enclosed in a brilliant, star-like glass, lit from a blessed olive tree—representing "Light upon Light" (Nur 'ala Nur). Furthermore, these ayaat talk about the exalted houses of Allah (mosques) and the true men of faith whom neither commerce nor daily trade can distract from the remembrance of Allah, the establishment of prayer, and the giving of Zakat, as they constantly remain mindful of the Day of Judgment.

Conversely, the ayaat vividly portray the futile deeds of those who deny the truth, comparing their lifelong actions to a deceptive mirage in a parched desert that leaves a thirsty person with nothing but the reality of Allah's exact reckoning. Another powerful parable compares their state to suffocating darkness within a deep, stormy ocean, covered by waves and dark clouds—darkness upon darkness. Finally, they beautifully describe how every creation in the heavens and the earth, including the birds with their wings spread across the sky, inherently knows its unique way of prayer and how to glorify Allah. The session concludes with a focused Arabic grammar lesson on recognizing verbs related to Bab Taf'eel.
