Start of Surah Al-Furqan. Differentiating between the laws of Surah An-Nur and the status of the Quran (Al-Furqan) and the Prophet (PBUH) which are the sources of those laws.

Ayat 1: The greatness of Allah who revealed Al-Furqan (The Criterion between right and wrong) to His servant so he may be a warner to all worlds.

Ayat 2: Allah's absolute dominion over the heavens and the earth. He has no offspring, no partner in His dominion, and He created everything with precise measure (Taqdeer). Mentions a reflection on discipline in our own lives modeled after universal discipline.

Ayat 3: The foolishness of taking false gods that create nothing, are themselves created, and possess no power over harm, benefit, life, death, or resurrection.

Ayat 4-6: The disbelievers' false accusations that the Quran is a forged lie and "tales of the ancients" dictated morning and evening. Allah responds that it is revealed by the One who knows all secrets, and yet He is forgiving and merciful, giving them time to repent.

Ayat 7-9: The disbelievers' arrogant demands: "Why does this Messenger eat food and walk in the markets? Why wasn't an angel sent down with him, or a treasure given to him, or a garden?" They call the believers followers of a bewitched man. Allah says they have lost the way.

Ayat 10-12: Allah is blessed; if He willed, He could give the Prophet much better—gardens with flowing rivers and palaces. The real issue isn't logical arguments; it's their denial of the Hour (Judgment Day). For those who deny the Hour, Allah has prepared a blazing Fire that will roar and boil with fury from afar.

Grammar Session: At the end, discussion on identifying active/passive participles (Fa'il and Maf'ool) in Baab If'aal, Taf'eel, etc.
