(ض) زَادَ يَزِيْدُ زَيْدًا وَزِيَادَةًzāda yazīdu zaydan wa-ziyādatan: to add to a thing once it is complete; to increase; also to increase (intransitively). ﴿فَزَادَهُمُ اللّٰهُ مَرَضًا﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:10); ﴿لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَاَزِيْدَنَّكُمْ﴾ (Ibrāhīm 14:7)
مَزِيْدٌmazīd: increase; more. ﴿وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيْدٌ﴾ (Qāf 50:35)
Form VIII (iftiʿāl) اِزْتَيَدَ يَزْتَيِدُ اِزْتِيَادًاiztayada yaztayidu iztiyādan (original form) ⟵ اِزْدَادَ يَزْدَادُ اِزْدِيَادًاizdāda yazdādu izdiyādan (the tāʾ changed to dāl): to increase; to become more. ﴿وَازْدَادُوْا تِسْعًا﴾ (Al-Kahf 18:25)
