(ض) وَحٰى يَحِيْ وَحْيًاwaḥā yaḥī wa-ḥyan (original form: وَحَيَ يَوْحِيُwaḥaya yawḥiyu): to convey a message by a hidden and swift sign, to inspire. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
وَحْيٌwaḥy (verbal noun (maṣdar), also noun (ism dhāt)): a hidden message; technically God's message sent down to a prophet.
Form IV (ifʿāl) اَوْحٰى يُوْحِيْ اِيْحَآءًawḥā yūḥī īḥāʾan: synonymous with the bare triliteral (thulāthī mujarrad): to reveal, to inspire, to make a (secret) sign; in the Quran this sense comes only from the ifʿāl form, not from the bare triliteral.
