— تَارَةtārah pl. تَارَات وَتِيَرtārāt wa-tiyar: once, one time; "تَارَةًtāratan … وَتَارَةًwatāratan" i.e. at one time … and at another. The lexicographers say the original sense is that of coming by turns. Twice in the Quran: ﴿مِنْهَا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ وَفِيْهَا نُعِيْدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرٰى﴾ (Ṭā Hā 20:55); ﴿اَنْ يُّعِيْدَكُمْ فِيْهِ تَارَةً اُخْرٰى﴾ (Al-Isrāʾ 17:69)
