ص ی صṣ-y-ṣ

— صِيْصَةṣīṣah pl. صَيَاصِيṣayāṣī: fortress, stronghold; the original sense is of that by which one protects oneself, which is why a cock's spur and a bull's horn are also called صِيْصَةṣīṣah. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَأَنْزَلَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَاهَرُوْهُمْ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ صَيَاصِيْهِمْ﴾ (Al-Aḥzāb 33:26).
