ص م عṣ-m-ʿ
(س) صَمِعَ يَصْمَعُ صَمَعًاṣamiʿa yaṣmaʿu ṣamaʿan: of the ears, to be small and lie close to the head (this verb is not used in the Quran).
صَوْمَعَةٌṣawmaʿah pl. صَوَامِعُṣawāmiʿu: a building with a tall, pointed top, such as a church, a monk's cell, a cloister. ﴿لَّهُدِّمَتْ صَوَامِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَّصَلَوٰتٌ وَّمَسٰجِدُ﴾ (Al-Ḥajj 22:40)
