ص ب عṣ-b-ʿ
— اِصْبَعٌiṣbaʿ pl. اَصَابِعُaṣābiʿu: finger; ten dialectal forms (variant pronunciations) of this word are recorded, the best known being اِصْبَعٌiṣbaʿ and اُصْبُعٌuṣbuʿ. Twice in the Quran, both times in the plural: ﴿يَجْعَلُوْنَ اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:19); ﴿جَعَلُوْٓا اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ﴾ (Nūḥ 71:7)
