س ع یs-ʿ-y
(ف) سَعٰى يَسْعٰى سَعْيًاsaʿā yasʿā saʿyan (original form: سَعَيَ يَسْعَيُsaʿaya yasʿayu): to walk briskly; to run about for some purpose; to strive.
اِسْعَisʿa (imperative, amr): strive (it was اصلاً اِسْعَيْaṣlan isʿay; the yāʾ has dropped because the verb is in the jussive).
سَعْيٌsaʿy (noun, ism dhāt): running about; striving; effort.
