(ض) رَفَدَ يَرْفِدُ رَفْدًاrafada yarfidu rafdan: to give a gift, to help, to support.
رِفْدrifd: gift, reward — in the Quran the word is used as طنزًاṭnzan; مَرْفُوْدmarfūd (passive participle, ism mafʿūl): that which is given. Twice in the Quran, both in the same verse: ﴿بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُوْدُ﴾ (Hūd 11:99) — i.e. how evil is the reward that is given.
