ق و سq-w-s
— قَوْسqaws pl. أَقْوَاس وَقِسِيّaqwās wa-qisiyy: a bow. Among the Arabs the length of a bow was a unit of measurement. Only once in the Quran, in that very idiom: ﴿فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنٰى﴾ (An-Najm 53:9).
