(ن، ض) نَفَثَ يَنْفُثُ وَيَنْفِثُ نَفْثًاnafatha yanfuthu wa-yanfithu nafthan: to blow with a light spray of saliva, to blow (an incantation). (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
نَفَّاثَةٌnaffāthah pl. نَفّٰثٰتٌnaffāthāt (intensive form, ṣīghat al-mubālaghah, on the pattern of فَعَّالَةٌfaʿʿālah): one (feminine) who blows much, women who blow on knots. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ﴾ (Al-Falaq 113:4)
