ل و تl-w-t

— لَاتَlāta: a particle of negation, resembling "لَيْسَlaysa"; according to the grammarians its subject is elided and its predicate is in the accusative, and it mostly occurs with "حِيْنḥīn". The lexicographers differ as to its origin: some have called it lā + the tāʾ of the feminine, others an independent word. Only once in the Quran: ﴿وَلَاتَ حِيْنَ مَنَاصٍ﴾ (Ṣād 38:3) — i.e. it is no longer the time for escape.
