ل ح فl-ḥ-f
(ف) لَحَفَ يَلْحَفُ لَحْفًاlaḥafa yalḥafu laḥfan: to cover something with a cloth (liḥāf) (this verb is not used in the Quran).
Form IV (ifʿāl) اَلْحَفَ يُلْحِفُ اِلْحَافًاal-ḥafa yulḥifu ilḥāfan: to cling (in begging), to ask with insistence and importunity. Only once in the Quran: ﴿لَا يَسْـَٔلُوْنَ النَّاسَ اِلْحَافًا﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:273)
