لِبَدlibad / لُبَدlubad pl. لُبْدَةlubdah: dense throngs, crowds piled upon one another; from the same root comes "لَبَدlabad", i.e. matted wool, felt. Twice in the Quran: ﴿كَادُوْا يَكُوْنُوْنَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا﴾ (Al-Jinn 72:19) — i.e. they were pressing in upon him; and ﴿يَقُوْلُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا﴾ (Al-Balad 90:6) — i.e. heaps of wealth.
