ج ل سj-l-s
(ض) جَلَسَ يَجْلِسُ جُلُوْسًاjalasa yajlisu julūsan: to sit.
مَجْلِسmajlis pl. مَجَالِسmajālis (noun of time or place, ẓarf): a place of sitting, assembly. Only once in the Quran, and that as the plural of the noun of place: ﴿إِذَا قِيْلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوْا فِي الْمَجٰلِسِ فَافْسَحُوْا﴾ (Al-Mujādilah 58:11)
جَلِيْسjalīs: companion, one who sits with another.
