ح و شḥ-w-sh
— حَاشَḥāsha: an expression of exoneration (kalimat tanzīh), meaning "God forbid, by no means"; the grammarians differ on its status: some have called it a verb and others a preposition (ḥarf jarr) (like the exceptive ḥāshā). The original sense is that of moving aside and keeping away. Twice in the Quran, both in Sūrat Yūsuf: ﴿حَاشَ لِلّٰهِ مَا هٰذَا بَشَرًا﴾ (Yūsuf 12:31); ﴿حَاشَ لِلّٰهِ مَا عَلِمْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُوْٓءٍ﴾ (Yūsuf 12:51)
