(س) هَلِعَ يَهْلَعُ هَلَعًاhaliʿa yahlaʿu halaʿan: to be extremely impatient and restless, to be in a panic.
هَلُوْعhalūʿ (pattern فَعُوْلfaʿūl, intensive form, ṣīghat al-mubālaghah): utterly faint-hearted, impatient. A Quranic point: the Quran itself explains this quality in the next two verses, a clear example of explaining the Quran by the Quran (tafsīr al-Qurʾān bi-l-Qurʾān): ﴿إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوْعًا إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوْعًا وَّإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوْعًا﴾ (Al-Maʿārij 70:19–21). Only once in the Quran.
