د ر ھ مd-r-h-m
(quadriliteral, rubāʿī) — دِرْهَمdirham pl. دَرَاهِمdarāhim: a silver coin; most of the lexicographers hold it to be of Greek origin معرّبmuʿarrab. Only once in the Quran, in the account of the selling of Yūsuf (peace be upon him): ﴿وَشَرَوْهُ بِثَمَنٍۭ بَخْسٍ دَرَاهِمَ مَعْدُوْدَةٍ﴾ (Yūsuf 12:20)Note: "دَرَاهِمَdarāhima" is a diptote (ghayr munṣarif) (the pattern of ultimate plurals, ṣīghat muntahā al-jumūʿ), which is why it is in the genitive without nunation (tanwīn) and with fatḥah.
