(ن) بَسَسَ يَبْسُسُbasasa yabsusu (original form) ⟵ بَسَّ يَبُسُّ بَسًّاbassa yabussu bassan: to crumble a thing to pieces, to crush and scatter it. Twice in the Quran, in a single passage; the verb is in the passive voice and the verbal noun (maṣdar) is a cognate accusative (mafʿūl muṭlaq) for emphasis: ﴿وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا﴾ (Al-Wāqiʿah 56:5)
