ع ن ک بʿ-n-k-b
quadriliteral — عَنْكَبُوْتʿankabūt pl. عَنَاكِبʿanākib: spider; the word is feminine. Twice in the Quran, both in the same passage, from which the surah takes its name: ﴿مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا وَّإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوْتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِ﴾ (Al-ʿAnkabūt 29:41).
