ا س سʾ-s-s
(ن) اَسَّ يَؤُسُّ اَسًّاassa yaʾussu assan: to lay the foundation of a building.
Form II (tafʿīl) اَسَّسَ يُؤَسِّسُ تَاْسِيْسًاassasa yuʾassisu tāsīsan: to lay a foundation; it carries an intensive sense, that is, to fill in the foundation. ﴿لَمَسْجِدٌ اُسِّسَ عَلَي التَّقْوٰى﴾ (At-Tawbah 9:108); ﴿اَفَمَنْ اَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُۥ﴾ (At-Tawbah 9:109)
