ط م مṭ-m-m
(ن) طَمَّ يَطُمُّ طَمًّاṭamma yaṭummu ṭamman (original form: طَمَمَ يَطْمُمُṭamama yaṭmumu): for water to rise and overwhelm everything, to fill and cover over.
طَامَّةṭāmmah (feminine active participle, ism fāʿil): the calamity that overwhelms everything — one of the names of the Resurrection, and the qualifier «الْكُبْريٰal-kubryā» heightens its intensity. Only once in the Quran: ﴿فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّآمَّةُ الْكُبْرٰى﴾ (An-Nāziʿāt 79:34).
