ث ی بth-y-b
— ثَيِّبthayyib pl. ثَيِّبَاتthayyibāt (pattern فَيْعِلfayʿil): a woman who has been married before, whether widowed or divorced — the opposite of بِكْرbikr (virgin). The lexicographers say it is from the root th-w-b, i.e. one who has returned to her family. Only once in the Quran: ﴿ثَيِّبٰتٍ وَّأَبْكَارًا﴾ (At-Taḥrīm 66:5)
