ص ع رṣ-ʿ-r

(س) صَعِرَ يَصْعَرُ صَعَرًاṣaʿira yaṣʿaru ṣaʿaran: (of the neck) to be twisted to one side (the name of a disease of camels), and from this, to turn the face away out of arrogance.

Form II (tafʿīl) صَعَّرَ يُصَعِّرُ تَصْعِيْرًاṣaʿʿara yuṣaʿʿiru taṣʿīran: to turn one's face away, to turn away in arrogance. Only once in the Quran, in the counsel of Luqmān (peace be upon him): ﴿وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ﴾ (Luqmān 31:18) — i.e. do not turn your face away from people in arrogance.
