س و عs-w-ʿ
— سَاعَةٌsāʿah pl. سَاعَاتٌsāʿāt (noun, ism dhāt): a portion of time, an hour; and «السَّاعَةas-sāʿah» with the definite article of prior reference (al-ʿahdiyyah) became reserved for the Resurrection — and this is the most eloquent use of the word, that the Resurrection is called «an hour».
سُوَاعٌsuwāʿ: the name of one of the idols of the people of Nūḥ, from this same root. ﴿وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَّلَا يَغُوْثَ﴾ (Nūḥ 71:23)This root occurs 49 times in the Quran.
