(س) رَدِيَ يَرْدٰى رَدًيradiya yardā radany: to be ruined and destroyed, to perish, to fall into a pit. ﴿فَتَرْدٰى﴾ (Ṭā Hā 20:16)
Form IV (ifʿāl) اَرْدٰى يُرْدِيْ اِرْدَاءًardā yurdī irdāʾan: to ruin and destroy, to cause to perish. ﴿اِنْ كِدْتَّ لَتُرْدِيْنِ﴾ (Aṣ-Ṣāffāt 37:56)
Form V (tafaʿʿul) تَرَدّٰى يَتَرَدّٰى تَرَدِّيًاtaraddā yataraddā taraddiyan: to perish, to fall into a pit. ﴿وَمَا يُغْنِيْ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ اِذَا تَرَدّٰى﴾ (Al-Layl 92:11)
مُتَرَدِّيَةٌmutaraddiyah (feminine active participle, ism fāʿil): (an animal) that dies by falling into a pit. ﴿وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيْحَةُ﴾ (Al-Māʾidah 5:3)
