ر ا سr-ʾ-s
(ف) رَأَسَ يَرْأَسُ رَاْسًاraʾasa yarʾasu rāsan: to strike on the head; also to become a chief.
رَاْسٌrās pl. رُءُوْسٌruʾūs: the head. ﴿وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّاْسُ شَيْبًا﴾ (Maryam 19:4); ﴿وَامْسَحُوْا بِرُءُوْسِكُمْ﴾ (Al-Māʾidah 5:6); رُءُوْسُ اَمْوَالٍruʾūsu amwāl: capital, the principal sum. ﴿فَلَكُمْ رُءُوْسُ اَمْوَالِكُمْ﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:279)
